The Sklad. Transport. Logistika’2007 show carries the label of RUEF - the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs. In March 2007, the exhibition enjoyed the recognition of the international exhibition community and received the official UFI label “UFI Approved Event”.
Over the last 10 years the Sklad. Transport. Logistika exhibition has experienced 4 times rise in exhibition space and exhibitor attendance. This year the show hit the record with 240 participants from 24 countries such as Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Luxemburg, Malaysia, Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, USA, showcasing modern equipment, services and solutions in the space of 5 600 sq.m (net).
The number of foreign exhibitors increased considerably as well. This year the exposition saw stands of SSI Schaffer GmbH, Westfalia Storage Systems, Asstra Associated Traffic AG, Kohl Mashinenbau GmbH, Bito Lagertechnik (Germany); Dematic GmbH & Co. KG, Knapp Logistics (Austria); BT Industries AB (Sweden); Balkancar Record, JSC (Bulgaria); Nilfisk-Advance A/S (Denmark); Kardex Systems AG (Switzerland); Rocla, Sevco, Roltex (Finland); International Trusts: Linde, Yale, EnerSys; Manitou BF S.a. (France); Hyster (Great Britain); Toyota (Japan) and others.
The exhibition put on display a wide range of domestic warehousing, transportation and logistics companies such as: ANT-Technologies, Volzhskiy Pogruzchik Trading Company, Solvo, Velikan-Rustraktor, Polymetal-M, Maxstore, DataKrat-E, Global Orient, Warehousing Technologies and Logistics, Rosmetizdelie, Severtrans Group of Companies, Mezhtransavto, Shelver and others.
The Sklad. Transport. Logistika exhibition showcased new projects and equipment efficient in reaching integrated logistics goals for warehousing and transportation business.
The Warehousing Section demonstrated design and construction of warehousing facilities, as well as warehousing equipment and technology.
The Transportation Section focused visitors’ attention on fleet management problems. It presented the latest transportation solutions and displayed various types of transport.
One of the most rapidly developing sections of the exhibition is Logistics. It features the modern state of modern city logistics, systems of production, transportation, customs and applied logistics, information technologies and means of communication. The organizers of the exhibition brought special attention to AgroLogistics, Warehouse Construction Projects and Commercial Real Estate, Modern City Logistics and TransPack Sections.
The Agrologistics Section was created by Expocentre in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. This section lent the show still greater importance in view of the Russian National Project on the Agribusiness Development.
This year’s exhibition saw the TransPack Section for the first time. It was arranged in cooperation with the National Packaging Confederation (NCPack) with support from the Subcommittee for Packaging Industry Development of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The development of the packaging industry became a topic of the workshop.
The show saw a set of scientific and practical events covering all the thematic sections. The business programme enabled the exhibitors and visitors to discuss the hottest topics of the industry, to find solutions protecting interests of the domestic freight forwarding operators and the whole transport system of Russia.
The 3rd scientific and practical conference Supply Chain Management and Warehousing Technologies in Modern Business organized by the Coordination Council on Logistics with assistance from Logistics Educational Centre and Warehouse Project Management Company, was held within the framework of the show. It addressed the current state and the most important development trends of logistics and supply chain management in Russia, with particular attention to industries where logistics and supply chain management are essential for their growth.
The participants in the conference had an opportunity to see the most effective products, services and solutions implemented in logistics in 2006 and to study the prospective projects.
Leading domestic and foreign logistics companies presented their innovations. A representative of Oracle CIS Company spoke of strategic business modeling, supply chain optimization and profitability analysis.
Adalius Company described its project of an integrated logistics system of supply chain and warehouse management (SCM+WMS). Red Tree Company analyzed new trends of the WMS market. Modern technologies for the automation of warehousing units and distribution centres of various types and purposes were submitted to discussion by Concept WMS and Psion Teklogix Central & Eastern Europe. Logistics Audit and Consulting Service Ltd. and STS Logistics Holding gave their recommendations on logistics audit of a company.
Industry experts got an opportunity to exchange opinions and new ideas within a series of events such as the Modern Transportation, Warehouse and Factory Packaging: Manufacturing, Use, Legislative Regulation Scientific and Practical Conference; the Effective Logistics Solutions for Freight Forwarding of Goods Seminar and Conference; seminars on modern warehouse logistics; a round-table addressing regional transportation and logistics systems and other events of the business programme.
The Best Warehousing Machinery and Equipment International Contest was traditionally held during the Sklad. Transport. Logistika’2007 exhibition. The award winners were CVH Company, SoyuzKomplektAvtoTrans, Volzhskiy Pogruzchik Trading Company, Metakor Companies (Maxstore Group of Companies), Forma 92, Orekhovo-Zuevo Engineering Plant Transprogress.
This year was the first time the MatchMaking system was operating during the Sklad. Transport. Logistika. Exhibition. It offered an easier way for the exhibitors and visitors to establish business contacts. A Business Centre in the Forum Pavilion offered its facilities for negotiations.
First time ever the Efficient Participation in STL’2007 Workshop was held before the opening of the show on 3 October 2007. This seminar organized by Expocentre and ExpoEffect Exhibition Consulting Agency demonstrated new forms of cooperation between the organizers and the exhibitors of the show.
About 8 000 industry experts visited the STL’2007 show and participated in its business programme, which is a 48% increase from the previous year. Total visitor attendance was nearly 11 700. The number of visitors, ever rising over the last 10 years, testifies to the growing interest towards the show, that has become a vitally important platform for business communication of industry specialists.
